Trending Floors | Solid Hardwood Grading Guide (Residential)
A simple guide to help homeowners choose the right hardwood grade based on appearance, character,
and budget.
What Hardwood “Grade” Means
Grade does not mean stronger or weaker wood — it describes the appearance of the boards: uniformity, natural character marks (knots/mineral streaks), color variation, board length consistency, and expected waste.
